Ruchi received her Ph.D. in Molecular Virology from CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Biology, Kolkata, India. 

During her Ph.D. program, she worked on Hepatitis B virus infections in India. 

In the BSL team, she is an expert in handling of pathogens and  biomolecules and contributes in  biological characterization of sensors.
